Happy Birthday to me!

For those wondering, we really don't have a rain route if today's celebratory parade gets rained out. I think maybe we'll all pile into the State Fair convention center if there is enough room and have a good time.

If it doesn't rain, and this is looking better and better, all 45 units are to meet in the State Fair Park parking lot at about 1:00. Parade begins at 1:30 and goes down Greenfield to 70th, over to National, back to 84th and to the grounds again.

I'm thrilled so many people worked together to put on this Tim Kretschmann celebration parade. A special thanks to parade chair person Sidney Snoggins.

Haunted Wisconsin - 2003 Trick-or-Treat Information

If you are anything like me, you're wondering when the "Trick or Treat" time in your city is. I found this website that shows all of these times for the state of Wisconsin.

Anybody remember when Halloween was held on Halloween?

Danube Cultural Society of Southeastern Wisconsin

The Danube Cultural Society recently was inducted in the German-American Societies of Milwaukee. They have also formed a new Kindergruppe, which is quickly growing to one of the largest in the city, despite waning affection for at least one other Kindergruppe I know of in town. Congratulations to them for this achievement!

Letting Boys Be Boys:
BERLIN - German women tired of taking their husbands on weekend shopping trips can now drop them off at a special kindergarten for men offering beer and entertainment.

'The women are issued a receipt for their partners when they hand them in and can pick up again when they return it to us later,' Alexander Stein, manager of the 'Nox Bar' said. Each man receives a name badge upon arrival and for 10 euros ($11.80) they get two beers, a hot meal, televised football and games. Stein said the idea for the men's creche, or 'Maennergarten,' came from a female customer who felt it would be a good way to get rid of her husband while she shopped. 'It beats sitting around in shoe shops, that's for sure,' remarked one man.
